A summer time Boise River Elopement
Eagle, Idaho | July 11, 2026
Roy & Deb
Some love stories take their time. Roy and Deb met 26 years ago in Kissimmee, Florida, and in the decades since they've built a beautiful life together. They have raised five children, welcomed three grandchildren, and share a love of the beach, travel, and each other. This July, after all those years, they finally said "I do" along the Boise River Greenbelt in Eagle, Idaho, and we were beyond honored to be part of it.
Fun, Intimate, Romantic
If you asked Roy and Deb to sum up their wedding day in three words, they'd say fun, intimate, and romantic, and honestly, that's exactly what it was. There was no big production, no long guest list, no stress. Just two best friends, gorgeous river scenery, and a whole lot of joy.
"We kept it pretty simple," Deb told us. "Just the way we wanted it to be. Stress free and something we both had so much fun with and great memories."
Choosing to elope doesn’t make your day any less meaningful. You can still have all the emotion, intention, and beauty of a traditional wedding, just without the stress. Roy and Deb brought a cake, from Albertson's, which we do recommend, as those are always delicious. One thing happened though, the flower decor on the cake was not edible, so be careful! They were given some gifts prior to eloping. Their daughter gave Deb her something blue, a beautiful bracelet she wore. Some friends gave gifts also that we included in photos, the cutest salt and pepper shakers, and a hand towel that talked about marriage, and a handkerchief that read HAPPY TEARS, and yes, it was used by the bride. They toasted with beautiful, personalized champagne flutes with a box, had a gorgeous cake cutting set, and Mr. and Mrs. forks!
Finding the Perfect Spot
Roy and Deb aren't from the Boise area, so when it came to choosing a location, they leaned on us to find the perfect place for them. We landed on the Boise River Greenbelt and on their wedding day, it delivered exactly the atmosphere they were dreaming of; sunny, warm, and peaceful with beautiful natural scenery as their backdrop. Even with other people enjoying the greenbelt nearby, the couple said the whole day felt calm and intimate, like it was just for them.
Since the location was near the Boise River, on the greenbelt, Roy and Deb rented a room at the local hotel that is located steps away from the area they exchanged vows. This gave them time and space to get ready together and have a relaxing morning. Jacey, the Vanity Beauty, arrived first to provide some pampering for the bride. Deb revealed later that when Jacey got there, it felt relaxed and like she knew her already. While Jacey was providing the finishing touches to the bride, the groom, Tyler, and Amy headed outside to scout the perfect spot for their ceremony. Photos were taken of a few beautiful areas, and the bride chose the location that spoke to her. It's fitting that "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers played as they walked down the aisle together, a love that had, quite literally, spanned decades before this day arrived.
Simple, Meaningful, Them
There was no elaborate color palette, no themed decor, no big symbolic gestures, and that was entirely the point. Deb wore a classic wedding dress, and Roy kept it dress casual in slacks, a shirt, and a tie. He did wear socks with sloths. We know there must be significance, but we are not sure. Perhaps because it took 26 years to tie the knot? Better late than never!
The real showpiece of the day was the setting itself: the natural beauty of the greenbelt and the outdoors standing in for any decorations they might have needed.
The Moment That Mattered Most
When we asked Roy and Deb what stood out most from their wedding day, the answer had nothing to do with the details and everything to do with the feeling.
"Finally marrying my best friend," Deb shared, "and honestly having y'all there still makes me smile. I can't tell you enough how much you all made our day amazing."
That's the whole reason we do this work, moments like that. She said that we felt like family, and it did feel that way.
From Planning to "I Do"
Roy and Deb found Milestones Studios online while searching for elopement services in Boise, and from there, our team handled every piece of the day so they could simply be present in it. When Roy first reached out, he knew their elopement was on short notice and was hopeful we could make their preferred timeframe work. Thankfully, Idaho makes that easy. Marriage licenses are valid the moment they’re issued, so we were able to say yes right away.
Planning came together with Jenna, hair and makeup was done by Jacey from The Vanity, Tyler officiated the ceremony, and Amy was behind the camera capturing every candid, joy-filled moment. Joslyn is the behind the scenes support to Milestones Studios and she helped to preserve the milestone by recording the ceremony with their phone, so they could share it with their family and friends.
The script Tyler provided to them talked about starting a new chapter in story that has been in making for quite a while. I think we all had tears in our eyes while it was being read, and they were saying I DO.
In Their Own Words
"Milestones Studios made our elopement the most special and amazing day ever. They were there for every step of the way! From helping with location, amazing help planning, the wonderful hair and makeup, awesome officiant and beautiful pictures. We could not be happier with everything! It felt like we had known them forever and made everything so stress free and perfect for the two of us. Amazing people. If you want an elopement they are definitely the ones you need! They take care of everything you need for a wonderful day so all you have to do is soak everything in and enjoy on your special day."
