Bored on a rainy day
Sometimes amazing things happen when you least expect it! It had been raining or snowing here in the Boise, Idaho area for at least 14 days. We had a short break in the weather, and I had the itch to do a photo shoot. So, without hesitation, my girls got dressed up! Have you all seen NCIS? Well, Joslyn showed up in her most Abbie Schuto look she could find, and I love it! Complete with combat boots and black lipstick, she nailed the look! Her dark and moody choice of wardrobe really accentuated the cloudy, rainy vibe we have been experiencing here in the Treasure Valley.
I ventured outside of my comfort zone on the editing for this set of photos. My style is true to life, clean editing. I decided to try my hand at dark & moody. I think it worked. What do you think?

As we were walking around downtown Boise, we came across these vines growing on the front of a building. Would you ever think you would find something like this in downtown? From all the precipitation we have had, this vine is going to be gorgeous this summer!
I just love the contrast between the flowers next to her and the construction site behind her. The softness of the flowing hair and the lace she is wearing is in perfect harmony with the black lipstick and combat boots!
We managed to find a lot of places to stop and take some pictures, before the rain started again! There are so many amazing, urban locations within walking distance in downtown Boise.
Within a minute of walking, we found an alley way complete with a chain link fence, an awesome brick wall, and these stairs! All of this was complete in about 30 minutes. As soon as we felt the raindrops, we wrapped it up and headed home. The best things about pictures on an overcast day with gray skies is no squinting from the sun! The harsh shadows were created to set the mood of the photos, not because we were fighting the sun.
